image003-1Since May 2014, 14 original Black Forest Cuckoo Clocks shown at the ‘Zäpflebar’ in Rothaus Grafenhausen Brauerei AG , could be chosen by visitors and guests.

Around 80,000 guests visited in the period from May until the end of December 2014, the newly built and opened Zäpflebar, in which every beer lover immediately get this feeling to be “at home” at Rothaus in Grafenhausen.

During this time approximately 8,000 visitors selected their personal favorite from the exhibited clocks per ballot.

Christian Rasch, the chief executive of the Rothaus brewery AG, opened the small Award ceremony held on 01.08.2015.

In his opinion, the Black Forest, the Rothaus brewery and the Black Forest Cuckoo Clocks fits very well together due to the long ongoing tradition both, Brewery and the clockmakers, have.

Mr. Rasch also pointed out that he will be pleased to host this exhibition again in a near future. Together with Ingolf Haas, the board of the association VdS, (club -the Black Forest Clock Association) and promoter of this event,

Christian Rasch announced the results of the election.

Winner of “cuckoo clock of the year 2014” was a clock from the company

Anton Schneider GmbH & Co.KG 78136 in Schonach.

Second place went to a Cuckoo Clock from Hönes Cuckoo Clock factory

GmbH in 79822 Titisee-Neustadt.

Third place was conquered by another clock from Hönes Cuckoo Clock

factory GmbH in 79822 Titisee-Neustadt.

All visitors, who participated by ballot in the election, had the opportunity to win some nice prizes, including a ‘Rothausuhr’ and a Black Forest ‘Bahnhäusleuhr’ cuckoo clock. Christian Behringer, the mayor of Grafenhausen, acted as a lucky fairy and drew out of the original beer barrel – ballot box, under the supervision of Christian Rasch and Ingolf Haas, the individual winners.
